The American Kennel Club is a business, pure and simple.  A registration from them, or ANY dog registry (and there are many), does NOT guarantee a healthy, well bred dog.  Puppy millers, puppy shops, and backyard breeders have found ways to access COUNTLESS blank registrations - all in an effort to make their shady business seem legitimate.

Responsible breeders:

1. Do not make a profit off of their dogs.  It is NEVER enough to make a living off of!!

2. ALWAYS offer to take the puppy (or dog) back, regardless of reason that it needs to be returned.

3. Have homes lined up for their pups before they breed their dogs! If they don't KNOW they have homes, they DON'T breed!

4. PERFORM GENETIC TESTING ON THEIR DOGS TO ENSURE THE MOST MINIMAL CHANCE OF THE OFFSPRING INHERITING A DISEASE!
